The anti-greenwashing guide

The Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has established five key principles to ensure that sustainability claims are fair and transparent.
However, checking your claim against these principles is often more challenging than it seems, as each principle comes with several additional points to consider. To make it easier for you to assess your claim, we have developed an ACM Sustainable Claims Checklist. This checklist allows you to easily verify whether your sustainability claims meet the requirements and helps you avoid greenwashing.
Without proper substantiation and transparency, sustainability claims can be considered misleading, leading to greenwashing. This can have legal consequences and damage your company’s reputation. Our checklist helps you verify step-by-step whether your sustainability claims comply with ACM guidelines.
Still unsure if your claims are compliant, or do you want to learn more about avoiding greenwashing? In our anti-greenwashing training, you will learn to identify misleading claims and develop a communication strategy that integrates sustainability. You’ll gain insights into legal frameworks (ACM) and explore a behaviour change framework for marketers.
